In addition, our field services division plays a vital role in customer service, offering technical backup to our customers, no matter where they are situated within South Africa. Raynier de Beer

Raynier has been a cornerstone of Engine Control Systems (ECS) for the past 12 years, starting his journey with the company as a junior technician. With deep roots in the industry, Raynier has built his knowledge and expertise from the ground up, advancing from his initial role to his current position as Managing Director.

Growing up, Raynier was inspired by his father, the founder of ECS, who started the company from humble beginnings. Witnessing his father’s dedication and hard work, Raynier was motivated to follow in his footsteps. Under his leadership, ECS thrives as a cohesive unit, achieving excellence in every aspect of the business. Raynier’s journey from technician to Managing Director is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and the strong values instilled in him by his family. He continues to lead ECS with a vision of respect and unity, ensuring the company’s ongoing success and greatness.

André Sutherland

Andre has 17 years of experience in product and service delivery for the mining industry. His ability to interact and build relationships between co-workers, suppliers and customers is one of his most valuable assets. He is a firm believer that accountability and responsibility start with him and does not expect anything less from anyone else.

Growing and sustaining a profitable business is what drives him in an always challenging industry. He has the natural ability to lead people and has a knack for helping people realise their own capabilities. Loyalty, honesty and ethical business practices are the cornerstones of how he does and manages things.

Jenny de Beer

Jenny de Beer’s journey with ECS commenced on the 1st of January 2015, marking the beginning of a remarkable career that has seen her rise to the esteemed position of Financial Manager. Jenny’s impact on the company goes beyond numbers; her unwavering professionalism has been instrumental in driving the company’s success.

Starting as an assistant to the accountant, Jenny’s relentless dedication and proficiency have propelled her to oversee not only the Finance department, but also the Human Resources department and all administrative policies and procedures. Her multifaceted skill set and holistic approach to management have been pivotal in shaping the operational efficiency and success of ECS. Compassionate and empathetic, Jenny always extends a helping hand and considers the human aspect in every interaction, fostering a culture of care and support within the ECS family

Kallie Oosthuizen

Kallie Oosthuizen is a seasoned professional with a rich history of dedication and expertise in the realm of the automotive technology. Kallie embarked on his career journey in 2007, following his academic achievements with a matriculation in 2006. Since joining ECS, Kallie has been a steadfast pillar of the company, contributing significantly to its growth and success.

With an impressive tenure spanning 17 years, Kallie’s ascent within the organization is a testament to his unwavering commitment and exceptional skills. Starting as a Field Service Technician, he progressed through the ranks to Senior Technician, then to Field Service Manager, and subsequently held the position of General Manager for a notable period. Currently serving as our esteemed Projects Manager, Kallie continues to drive innovation and excellence in every aspect of his work. Kallie’s profound understanding of our systems, spanning from installation to programming, has positioned him as a key asset to the company.

Ben Schoombie

Meet Ben Schoombie, a seasoned professional whose unwavering dedication to safety and expertise in health and quality management have reshaped the landscape of ECS. Ben’s journey with ECS began on the 18th of July 2016 when he assumed the role of General Manager, swiftly transitioning to the pivotal position of the company’s SHEQ Manager, where he continues to drive excellence and innovation today.

Ben’s career trajectory is a testament to his diverse skill set and relentless pursuit of knowledge. Starting as a Fitter and Diesel Mechanic Apprentice, he honed his craft and rose to the role of Acting Engineer Foreman before making his mark at ECS. Ben has pursued education at over 20 institutions, acquiring expertise in areas such as Hydraulics, Fluid Pumps, Lubrication Fundamentals, Rigging Skills, and various other domains. However, his primary focus and passion lies in Health and Safety, where he has dedicated his studies and career advancement. Ben’s commitment to excellence is exemplified by his achievements, including the attainment of a Safety Officers Diploma in 2009 and the completion of the Integrated Management System and Internal Auditors Training course for ISO and OHSAS in 2014.

Karen de Beer

Karen brings 16 years of industry experience to her role at ECS. Starting her career as a Picker in the warehouse and Sales Assistant, Karen has grown within the company through various positions—from Picker and Sales to Procurement, Product Specialist, and now Operations Manager. She has collaborated with top teams and esteemed clients in the industry, consistently delivering outstanding results.

Karen’s contributions have been instrumental in streamlining our operations, enhancing our supply chain management, and nurturing the next generation of professionals through mentoring and training. Her expertise spans diverse sectors, earning her a reputation for reliability, creativity, and adept problem-solving skills.

Calvyn Van Wyk

Calvyn Van Wyk is a seasoned professional with a passion for excellence and a knack for inspiring those around him. Calvyn embarked on his journey in the automotive industry back in 2006, where he honed his skills as a panel beater and spray painter assistant while pursuing his education. With a solid foundation laid during his school years, Calvyn matriculated in 2010, marking the beginning of his remarkable career trajectory.

In 2019, Calvyn brought his expertise to ECS, where he started as a Semi-skilled Technician. Through his unwavering commitment and exceptional work ethic, he swiftly rose through the ranks, earning a well-deserved promotion to Supervisor in 2022. A true testament to his proficiency, Calvyn completed his Trade Test in July 2022, solidifying his status as a skilled professional in the industry. His stellar performance did not go unnoticed, leading to his appointment as Regional Manager in 2023. Eager for new challenges and opportunities, Calvyn, along with his loving family, embraced a fresh chapter by relocating to Kathu in the Northern Cape to spearhead the opening of a new branch.

Noble Graham

Noble joined ECS in August 2024, and boasts over 14 years of experience in the mining industry. With a strong focus on customer-centricity, Noble believes that honesty, respect, and treating everyone equally—from CEOs to general workers—are paramount to achieving success. He holds a degree in Business Management and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies to further his knowledge and skills.

Noble’s approach to leadership emphasizes the value that he places on his team members, whom he considers the greatest strength of any organization. Eager to embrace new and exciting challenges, he is committed to continuous learning and development, ensuring he stays at the forefront of industry trends and practices.

Brett du Plessis

With over 17 years of experience in the mining industry, Brett du Plessis has established himself as a dynamic leader with a strong technical foundation and a progressive management track record. Brett joined ECS just over a year ago as an Operations Supervisor and has quickly risen through the ranks, first to Key Account Manager and most recently to Regional Manager. His tenure at ECS builds on a solid 16-year career at Schauenburg, where he progressed from Junior Technician to Technical Coordinator. 
 
Brett holds a Higher Certificate in Electronics and has further enriched his expertise through various online courses in project and business management. His commitment to excellence and professional growth continues to drive the success of ECS’s regional operations.
